Further details about the new C-Klasse range - 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Klasse Coupe

The C-Klasse models will receive a mid-lifespan facelift in 2010;one year later, a new version will be added to the portfolio - the C-Klasse Coupe.

The new 2-door medium-sized car, a complete premiere for the C-Klasse lineup, will replace the CLC-Klasse, which isn't seen as a proper contender on the market compared to its main opponents, as its underpinnings are basically the slightly revised ones of the W203 C-Klasse Sportcoupe. The Coupe will also have the task of replacing the outgoing CLK-Klasse and be a competitor for BMW's 3er Coupe. However, Mercedes-Benz is rumoured to have taken the decision of not offering a C-Klasse Cabrio. The drastic outcome is the consequence of the short lifecycle of the C-Klasse Coupe, which is expected to reach 3-4 years. Another major reason is the lower price tag of the C-Klasse models, which must stay so. A cabrio would defintely need more development and testing, and thus it would turn out to be somehow pricy. The powerplants offered will be the same as in the case of the Limousine and T-Modell-updated or brand new petrol and diesel units, that are more efficient, less thirsty, less pollutant, and benefitting from turbocharging and direct injection.
